This work started off with a red cardinal plaster from the 50's and a red fragment from a fender bender on the highway. The back ground was blue and I found a mermaid picture that was also blue and red. I covered the second cardinal with the same blue and silver as the back ground as if it had dipped itself into the color and flown off the painting. The mermaid points longingly up at it from a stormy sea.
